About Demet Akpolat
ABOUT
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Demet Akpolat
I graduated with honors from Akdeniz University Faculty of Medicine in 2009 and earned the title of Medical Doctor. That same year, due to the Medical Specialty Examination (TUS) and the compulsory public service placement being held during the same week for the first time, I completed my mandatory public service as a General Practitioner at Denizli Kale State Hospital for three months, despite having already secured a residency position in Dermatology through TUS.
Between 2010 and 2014, I completed my Dermatology residency at Ankara Atatürk Training and Research Hospital. From 2014 to 2018, I fulfilled my compulsory public service as a Dermatology Specialist at Beykoz State Hospital before leaving public service. Since 2018, I have been providing care to my patients at my private office in Ataşehir under the name Demet Akpolat Office.
In 2023, I was awarded the title of Associate Professor, advancing my academic career. I have obtained two national patents in Türkiye for systems and structures I developed in the field of dermatology. These innovations have progressed through the international PCT process and entered the national phase following successful evaluations. (PCT/TR2025/050465 & PCT/TR2025/050466)
As a principle, I embrace a holistic approach and the philosophy of “Less is More.” Therefore, I do not perform any procedure that does not genuinely benefit my patients or that contradicts fundamental scientific principles such as anatomy, physics, and gravity.
Trust is an inseparable part of our profession. Nothing makes me happier than being able to maintain the trust that my patients place in me.
